Ariel Pelayo was born in Matanzas, 60 miles east of Havana, Cuba, where he studied fine art and architecture. He moved to the U.S. in 2009.
Pelayo received a B.F.A. in Painting (summa cum laude) from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) Baltimore, Maryland in December 2019. His work ranged widely in style, subject matter, and mediums from a straightforward naturalistic representation to abstraction and has been displayed in numerous solo and group shows.
His work is featured in the permanent art collection at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland. Pelayo lives and works in Harford, Maryland.
